December's release includes a few updates to Phin's latest feature, the Microsoft Automated Allowlisting integration.
Microsoft Automated Allowlisting Updates
We've had an amazing response to our Microsoft Automated Allowlisting feature, with over 1000+ companies turning this feature on within 2 weeks of making it available. We can't thank you enough, our partners, for continuing to provide feedback that led to this achievement! 🎉
IMPORTANT UPDATES
- If additions are made to automated allowlisting (ex, added domains, URLs, rules), they will be auto-synced with the connected Microsoft environments, removing the need to re-run the integration once enabled.
- Two rule changes have been introduced:
- The 'Bypass Focused Inbox for Phin' rule that is added to Mailflow > Rules in the Exchange admin center has been changed to the 'Bypass Focused Inbox and Spam Filter for Phin' rule. The change adds a spam confidence level set to -1 on Phin emails, ensuring they are not marked as spam during the delivery process to end-users.
- A new rule called 'Set SCL for X-Phin-CUSTOM header' will be added to Mailflow > Rules in the Exchange admin center when Automated Allowlisting is run. This rule looks for emails that include the X-PHIN-CUSTOM header and sets a spam confidence level of -1, ensuring they are not marked as spam when delivered to end users. If companies have already generated a custom header in Settings > Sending Settings, it will be used; otherwise, Phin will generate one for you when automated allowlisting is run.
Updated IPs (Allowlisting)
ACTION REQUIRED: Phin Security has updated its email service provider and IP addresses. This means that all Phin partners must update their allowlisted IPs for all clients by 1/6/2025 to continue sending simulated phishing emails. Failure to update allowlists will result in a failed delivery.
