October 2024: Release Notes 3.15.3 🎃

October's release includes a new look and feel to the ConnectWise integration, a Campaign Scheduler update, and Multi-Company access for company-level admins.

ConnectWise Manage Integration Improvements

Though still early in its lifecycle, we've been very excited to hear such wonderful feedback about our ConnectWise integrations. So we thought, "How could we make the experience of using both integrations better?" With that thought in mind, we've got several improvements to show off.

A Unified Integrations Page

Prior to this, you needed to go through the connection and setup process for each CW integration separately. Now, you can see and configure the permissions you need for both integrations on one connection screen before connecting your Phin environment to the ConnectWise environment.

Added Validation

Prior to this, you could connect Phin to ConnectWise without necessarily knowing if you had the permissions configured correctly. To fix that, we've added validation to the process of enabling either integration to provide the user feedback on whether the integration can access what it needs to in order to perform its job.

Shared Mapping

We've brought mapping to both integrations by rebuilding the company mapping page (where you can map Phin companies to ConnectWise companies). Decided to start with the Billing integration first and then enable the Service Desk integration? No problem, after mapping in the Billing tab, you'll see the mapping of companies persist when you move over into the Service Desk tab.

Service Desk & Report Phishing Enablement

Not only does the Service Desk integration now have the ability to map companies, but you can also see which companies already have the Report Phishing Button for Outlook integration configured in Phin, as this is a requirement in order for reported emails to be created into ConnectWise Service Desk tickets. See a company that doesn't have it enabled? No problem. Just click the "Setup" link, and a new tab will open up directly to that company's Report Phishing integration page.

Pick Your Campaign's First Delivery Date

Ever had trouble knowing when your campaign would deliver the first training course or phishing simulation? Well, we've got good news for you! Now the campaign schedule feature gives you the control to choose the exact date and time you want users to receive the first piece of content in a campaign. After that date, the campaign will run on the schedule indicated.

Let's walk through an example:

In the schedule example above, I want the first course in my training campaign to be delivered on 10/22/2024 at 3 PM (time-zone specific). Scheduled courses after this date will reoccur once a month on the 1st Monday at 8 AM, starting on 10/31/2024. This means that starting on 10/31/2024, the scheduler will find the next date that equals the 1st Monday of the month, which is 11/4/2024. Below our scheduler, we can see a preview of our schedule in both a list view and a calendar preview.

Scheduling for phishing works the same way, but instead of an exact first date and time, you choose the first "Phishing Send Window," which determines the first range of dates your users will receive their first phishing simulation.

See the links below for a more in-depth explanation of how the campaign scheduling tool works.

Company-Level Admins get Multi-Company Access

Now, you can add company-level admins to multiple companies. Company-level admins within multiple companies can switch between all companies they have access to, similar to a Partner Admin (without the ability to access partner-level information and features).

To give a company-level admin access across multiple companies, you must navigate to each company and add them as an admin under the "Admins" tab on the Users page.

For admins to switch companies, they will need to use the switcher at the top right corner of the screen from any page in the Phin platform (as shown in the following screenshots).

⚠️ Deleting Company-Level Admins: Beware that when you remove an admin from one company, the system will remove them from ALL companies they have access to in the portal.
